Carl, is that the property meeting? I thought it was for the skate board working party.

I see Val's idea of a play area at Jubilee fields is being sought by the BSRA, so perhaps there won't be room for a skateboard park over there, which is where a lot of the people from the village I have been talking to said it should be going. More space and nobody to complain.

I hope the meeting goes well. Its a shame it's at the same time as the Property meeting as some Councillors might have liked to attend.

Thank you for that information PMB, and some of the allotmenteers might have liked to attend the property meeting to hear what the skateboarders have to say.

Apologies about the timing, We had to find a date/time that suited all the committee members for this one meeting.

All the paperwork will be passed to the council immediately afterwards anyway.

Regards

By the way - if anyone is interested we have a website with some info on it.

It is incomplete for obvious reasons but feel free to browse.

Your website does you credit, Carl.  I hope that you get the site you are after.

I intend to speak against having the skateboard park on Manor Fields on Wednesday.  That does not mean that I am against the project just that from village talk, it was tried before and did not find favour then.

However, I don't want the kids to lose out and I want to ask that the PC consider an alternative site as well as Manor field, because if the postcard vote goes against the kids then an alternative ought to be there as a second chance for them or they will wait a long time in the future.

Whether your vote is for the allotments or skateboard park or both to go on Manor field don't forget to send in your consultation card to the PC.

The card came with the PC magazine please don't just put it in the blue bin, the PC are asking us for our comments. It will be our votes that decide what goes on Manor field so please support what you would like to see there.

I'm sure I read somewhere on here that these consultation cards had been put on hold and were not meant to be sent out yet.
Can anyone remind me where?

Hi Sally.  It had been suggested originally that the proposals for Allotments and Skateboard Park for Manor Fields should both go on one consultation card.  However at the Property meeting on 17 February 2010, a representative of the Skateboard Working Party said it was far too soon to consider the wording of the consultation card as the working Party had not made a decision yet and the views of the young people must be heard too.

The Property Committee went on to discuss the wording and Cllr Berry seconded Cllr Homer’s proposal to defer the matter with the amendment that consultation on the allotments be carried out separately and the vote was... in favour.. 4,  Abstentions .. 1   - AGREED

I guess someone took a unilateral decision unless anyone has read anything different in any other minutes!!!

Mr Leaney - If Rowan Drive people haven't got their PC Newsletter with consultation cards then I expect they are on the way.  The people who objected to the Skateboard Park at the meeting of Property Committee were from Coombe Hill and Rowan Drive, and a good case they made for not having the skateboard park on Manor fields backed up with many signatures which were presented to the PC.

Thank you Lesley. I thought that was the case.

I wonder at which meeting the decision was changed, who made that decision and why ?
